We have the capacity to learn how to make impactful changes in our lives, and simply by including a regular mindfulness practice can open our eyes to the wonders of being present and living more mindfully.

I tried mindfulness and like many people I felt uncertain of what I was doing or what I was supposed to do during a practice, and was I doing it right, however I still wanted to gain from the benefits of a mindful practice so I looked for something else. Then I stumbled across Sophrology, which is when I began to appreciate ‘the benefits of mindfulness’, using an alternative through simple guided practices I was able to experience another form of mindfulness through breathing with movement and visualisation techniques that was truly transformational for me!

Sophro Balance is a practice that can help you gain all the same benefits of mindfulness for your own mental health, and it reveals layer upon layer of understanding about issues from the past, that affect the present and that has the power to change your perception about the future that can be life changing. It has really helped me, and has been proven to help others with improved levels of concentration, greater confidence, lowered stress and anxiety, and increased energy which can be a powerful tool for life.

We refer to ‘Our values’ as ‘Spirit gifts’ in Sophrology, and we will choose a Spiritual Value such as honesty, trust, patience or kindness during a typical session that enables our inner awareness to open up to the source of that energy, and that can influence how we live our lives. They have the power to release, refocus and restore balance, but this still remains a mystery for some who have yet to realise the benefits of living mindfully and being present every day.

Quick Tip Choose your ‘Value’ to get the most from this practice.

Sit comfortably in a chair with your feet firmly planted on the floor, your hands resting on your thighs, then standing for the Body Scan follow the 1st to the 6th systems: The head, the neck, the chest area, the area between the navel and the sternum, the lower abdomen and then the navel.

In the 1st Level position standing arms raised straight up above your head and the 4th Level position opening your arms outwards, tilting your head back a little, face upwards and with arms outstretched, open your hands, palms facing upwards…breathe out fully from your stomach and lungs, and take a full deep breath in…begin.
