Practices that will Revitalise you!

Imagine yourself in the future, picture yourself, in every detail, see, hear, smell, taste and touch, noticing yourself as if for the first time, with curiosity and wonder. These practices are intended to enhance your self-esteem, enable you to trust in your instincts, revitalise your inner self, and bring joy to your life!

Sophro Positive Energy

Before starting your day – In a lying position, sink into the mattress or the floor, relaxing, releasing, then, focus on the breath, breathe naturally…

Finding a comfortable position, arms relaxed by your sides, palms facing upwards, breathing normally…in through the nose, out through the mouth. Recall a positive memory from the past, then take a few deep breaths in and out, feeling the positive energy relating to that memory, really notice any or all the pleasant sensations that come to you…calm, relaxed, happy feelings!

Then leaving that positive memory aside, become very aware of the present moment, take those pleasant sensations experienced during the exercise and relive them now, in the moment. Really visualise a place, a person, or object that you love or that brings joy to your life, observe those feelings, thoughts or emotions and sensations, finish with an integration pause.

Sophro Dynamic Relaxation

After starting your day – In the standing position, arms by your side, feet anchored firmly on the ground, focus on the breath, breathe naturally…

Breathe out emptying the stomach and lungs, breathe in deeply through the nose, hold the breath, arms by your side, clench your fists and begin to pump the shoulders up & down, fast or slow, then release the breath fully and let the shoulders relax, release and let go of any tensions.

Repeat 3 times then sit back in a chair, take an integration pause, this allows you to reflect on how the exercise made you feel, notice any or all the sensations in the body…the temperature of the body, the size of the body and the weight of the body, integrating this practice more fully.

Sophro Hemibody Practice

Any time of day – In the standing position, arms by your side, feet anchored firmly on the ground, focus on the breath, breathe naturally…

Breathe out emptying the stomach and lungs, breath in deeply through the nose, hold the breath, shift your weight on to the right foot raising your right arm up to the sky, straightening your right leg and stretching the whole of that side of your body up and down…release the breath and drop the arm back down to the starting position…notice any sensations or differences between each side of the body.

Repeat this on the left side, then do the exercise on both sides of the body together will stimulate the body and reduce fatigue. Sit back down in the chair for an integration pause noticing any sensations, relaxing, releasing and letting go. Writing down your feelings will integrate this more fully.

Sophro Balanced Energy

End of your day – Try this easy breathing technique called the Hugging Breath to calm, rebalance and relax you, sitting or lying down in bed before falling asleep, focus on the breath, breathe naturally.

Correct Position – Place your arms straight out in front of you, palms of your hands facing each other, thumbs upwards towards the ceiling, bend your elbows, cross your arms and tuck your fingers under your armpits with your thumb resting on your body. The places where your thumbs rest are acupressure points that will help rebalance your energy.

Breathe in fully into the lungs (just the upper part of the body, not down into the abdomen), breathe in until your lungs are very full and you feel the air right up into the shoulders, then breathe out…breathe in and out.

Begin the breathing again, repeating half a dozen times or more as needed.
