Set your Intentionality!

In pursuit of a harmonious lifestyle, we go through three cycles with twelve Sophro Dynamic Relaxation practices that use breathing with body awareness and visualisations, special postures and movements. This is achieved through regular practice and is one of the main goals as it enables a person to deal with stress and anxiety differently which strengthens the body’s defences, empowering us to live life more fully.

One of the sophrological theories is based on 3 levels of consciousness:

  • The waking level
  • The sleeping level
  • The ‘sophroliminal’ level (a state between awake & asleep)

The aim is to temporarily bring about a sophrological state through intentionality, to lengthen it and use it to positively influence our own consciousness. The ‘sophroliminal’ level is a neutral state in which the person has total control and is present and relaxed. Expanding in this way, and maintaining it for a long time, changes the perception of one’s own reality, helping us to use it to act positively in daily life and achieve our goals.

The difference between Intention & Intentionality…

Intention is a course of action that a person intends to follow, while Intentionality is the defining characteristic of the mental state of a person when deliberating about an intention.”

We do not focus on the problem itself or on the causes, and we do not ignore the problem but, better to solve it, concentrate on the positive elements inside us, our past, present or future enabling us to move forward. This strengthens and reinforces the self in order to reach our full potential, the assumption being that positive thoughts can create a positive chain reaction inside us which affects our entire being.

In a Sophro Balance visualisation we use the intention as a way to connect with our Animal Guide who takes us on a journey in an imaginary world where our interpretation of what is, is left up us to explore. A place to see what this wonderful world gives us in the form of the freedom to express our deepest wants, hopes, beliefs, wishes and desires!

We learn to trust and have confidence in ourselves, we include gratitude for our body and appreciate things more fully in life which allows us to find happiness and joy, ensuring a future full of positive wellbeing!
