Balance your Lifestyle…
Sophrology, founded by the Columbian born Professor Caycedo in the 1960’s, the word itself derives from the Greek meanings below:
- SOS = Harmony
- Phren = Conciousness
- Logos = Science
Harmony is an important part of the process because we are seeking to balance ourselves at a time when our usual state is trying to work through everything elose that’s going on!
Incorporating practical ways will rejuvenate you at a time when your body needs that extra little bit of self-care & attention, and ensure that you are in peak condition both physically and mentally, so you can find inner strength and enjoy life to the fullest.
Your Sophro Balance Intuitive Guide to Living Life Well:
Ditch the Negative Thinking
A daily Sophro Balance practice can provide you with a sense of calm, it releases feelings of positivity which, when practised regularly, can bring about a heightened sense of joy & happiness to your life. Try my ‘Mood Lifting’ practice provided below, that is a great introduction to the power of positivity.
Honour your Values
Set the intention and think about your deepest wishes, hopes, dreams and desires, and check out the ‘6 Steps to Balanced Wellbeing’ where you can find our more about the process that will make you think about your life journey, your goals, your values and your aspirations.
Respect your Body & Mind
Explore the body-mind connection, look at various relaxation techniques, taking this time for yourself. We focus on the breath as there are several different breathing exercises you can do, some will re-energise you, while others will relax and calm you, especially good for anxiety, stress or if you struggle to sleep at night.
Make Peace with Yourself
An opportunity to reflect on the past, issues that may have been troubling, we consider how to react to situations in a new light, influenced by previous experiences, positive or negative. We look at sleep, anxieties and worries, finding better ways to handle these stressors or thoughts about them that may no longer serve you.
Cope Better with Emotions
Well, I have improved how I deal with my emotions and usually find writing them down in a journal helps me. If you have had frustrations at work, or with friends or family, particularly when you haven’t been able to get your point across, then write a letter, nobody need ever read it but the benefits of releasing that can make you feel so much better!
Be Present Everyday!
Sophro Balance is about Eastern wisdom meets Western science, based on Buddhism, Yoga and Zen, which are all types of holistic therapies, it uses simple guided mindfulness, combining breathing with movement & visualisation techniques that will enable you to recognise the key ways in which you can enjoy living again.
Include ‘Joyful’ Movement
Exercise, yes Sophro Balance has the power to help you focus on the final goal or competition. It is a fact that Sophrology was used by athletes at the Olympic Games as a way to focus their attention on winning the race or being the best in their chosen sport. This can be applied to your own fitness goals, so you can still go for it!
Make Healthy Food Choices
That ‘Body, Mind & Gut Feeling’ is a sense of knowing that you feel better within yourself! A general sense of wellbeing that life doesn’t seem as tricky as before, a reflective part of being, a time to appreciate where you started your journey and how you feel now including foods that can benefit your gut to help you thrive.
