New Year, New Habit, New You!

An easy way to overhaul your deepest desires, create New Habits that stick and transform your life!

There are plenty of books on how best to get the results you seek, and a very well known author motivated me to write this blog after reading his self-help book, ‘Just One Thing’ by Dr Michael Mosley, where he highlights some of the evidence backed examples of how simple changes can transform your life.

Debunk the myth:It takes 21days to establish a new habit…not so! More importantly, no one size fits all, because everyone learns differently, and different methods work for different people.

So I wanted to provide a way to include the whole body & mind holistically through methods I use in Sophro Balance, practice, repetition and journaling, but also as a way to establish it firmly into the subconscious brain. Consider the things you want to include in you new lifestyle in relation to your existing routine today and follow the process below:

  • Keep it SimpleDo not overstretch yourself, make sure it’s doable.
  • Create a TriggerTag your habit on to something you do already.
  • Stick with ItJust 15mins a day can be totally transformational.
  • Drop Bad HabitsLeave the habits behind that no longer serve you.
  • Do it EverydayPractice makes the world go round, so keep it up.
  • Write it DownJournalling every day will reinforce you’re efforts.

Example: Last year I ran 3 times a week hoping to lose weight but struggled to lose any at all, so this year I wanted to take it up a level by adding squats and press ups to my warm up, (not something I do very well), but hopefully this will reinforce my New Habit so it sticks this time.

Now for the easy bit…we know there are wonderful benefits to mindfulness, but like me, you may have been curious about how it’s done, or if it really works, well this Sophro Balance method of guided breathing with movement and visualisation techniques can elevate your practice to another level, creating an auto mind-body connection that is transformational.
