Mindfulness & meditation is something we should all envisage doing in later life! 

Sophro Balance, a type of mindfulness, will give you a sense of being truly present, enabling you to regain balance in your life, just noticing your inner thoughts to realise how life changing that can be!

There is good evidence that mindfulness can have very positive effects on your mental health, especially in your later years.  There are also lots of classes out there that can be beneficial for health & wellbeing, either holistic or alternative therapies that can suit your needs, the key is doing a practice that makes the difference.

At Sophro Balance we provide a practice based on Buddhism, Yoga and Zen that together have the potential to give you a sense of happiness that enables you to enjoy life.  It reduces stress, helps you worry less and has the potential to make you feel less anxious.  Sophrology is not very well known in the UK but has been embraced in Europe, and by combining these three principles, which include breathing, visualisation and movement techniques, it can enable you to focus more deeply on the present moment, thereby making you feel happier.

This type of mindfulness is easy to do as it’s a guided therapy that focuses on the mind-body connection that will, in just a few weeks, help you maintain a sense of balance that may otherwise be missing from your life.  Done daily it can produce inner feelings of joy and happiness bringing a sense of harmony to your life that improves sleep, enhances mood, reduces pain, enabling deep relaxation.

It can also be very beneficial for the older person who may have lost their self-confidence, as this type of practice will help you to better cope with life issues making them seem easier to manage.  This one gift of happiness & joy in older life can provide a feeling of self-worth, bringing a sense of balance back to people’s lives in their latter years.
