Sophro Dynamic Relaxation

We achieve Sophro Dynamic Relaxation (SDR) through a series of guided breathing, movements & visualisations, done seated or standing, although it can be seen as a contradiction in terms, it is the most significant part of Sophrology, and is made up of the 4 Levels:

  • SDR Level 1 – The Body
  • SDR Level 2 – The Mind & the 5 Senses
  • SDR Level 3 – Emotions & the Walk
  • SDR Level 4 – Values & All is One

Each level teaches you how to Integrate aliveness’ within your body. We unveil layer upon layer of inner awareness that enables you to reach a deeper level of relaxation and pure happiness, enabling feelings of joy that can be life enhancing.

Autogenic Training (AT)

This is a training practice introduced by Dr Johannes Heinrich Schultz, a German psychiatrist, in 1932 and proved to be very affective for improving a multitude of health & wellbeing issues through the use of a simple guided practice that uses visualisations on the premise that our bodies connect with the mind, creating stronger results when included in a daily practice. What Autogenic Training means and its benefits can be found here.

What is a Contemplative Practice?

  • Cultivation of self-awareness.
  • Specific physical posture(s) or sequence of movement.
  • Focused, non-evaluative attention.
  • A holistic approach to wellbeing.
  • Development of mental and physical steadiness & balance.
  • Fostering greater attunement, compassion, and creativity.
