Relaxation Inspired Joy…

Cherish your bath time even more by including the following things in ‘Your Self-care Toolbox’: Natural soap bar; dry body brush; sea sponge; pumice stone; nail brush; a natural loofah; a hammam glove/mitt and a scented candle or two. Don’t forget to take a good book with you…

Using 6-10 drops of your favourite essential oil will immediately relax the mind and body after a long day! Use lavender and cedarwood for sleep inducing and grounding, frankincense for creating tranquillity and relaxing the mind, and rose for romance as it can stir desire and enhance self-esteem and boost confidence.

Natural oils will penetrate deep into the skin and provide rejuvenation which helps soften and nourish the skin. Using a natural base oil for their purity and efficacy mixed with a scented essential oil is the easiest way to implement aromatherapy and its health benefits.

Dry body brushing before you step into that warm bath is a highly effective way of improving skin tone and stimulating the blood & lymphatic circulation. Using upward circular strokes towards the heart will kick-start your metabolism and help detoxify your entire body!

Adding bath salts is amazing for reinvigorating your body from the inside out so try salts that are popular like Epsom salts, Dead Sea salts and Himalayan salts, all of which are wonderful additions to a bath. They help ease stress, keep blood pressure in check, boosts your circulation and helps strengthen bones and nails.

A natural loofah one of nature’s best exfoliants, a loofah stays firm, it improves circulation and skin condition. A Hammam mitt is used to deep cleanse dead skin cells, toxins and impurities, often used with Beldi soap from black olive pulp or any natural soap.

Once that bath has run step into it carefully, a bamboo tray is useful to rest your hands when reading a book, or place that cup of herbal tea (or whatever you fancy!). Just be super careful not to slip stepping out after a good 25-30mins soak and rinse the bath immediately.

Finally slip on a pair of fluffy socks and wrap yourself in your favourite fleece robe or jumper, make yourself a warm drink of herbal tea and remember the process of cooling down helps your body temperature prepare for sleep before finally settling in at night…
