Appreciation of your Core Values ensures you use them as part of everyday life…allowing for a deeper connection so you can be true to yourself…
Generally, people adopt the values they are raised with as they tend to believe those values are ‘right’, and they may relate to family, honesty, and respect as that suggests stability, comfort, and joy.
Other values could be love, health, religion, spirituality, freedom, or individuality, and are the values we live by. The ones that resonate with who we really are, our upbringing, our beliefs, and principles are what motivate us to behave in one way or another.
In the fourth level of Sophro Balance we are introduced to the ‘Standing Integration Pause’:
Stood upright in front of your chair, feet shoulder distance apart with arms by your side, gently clench your fists and raise both arms above your head, open your arms out wide with palms facing upwards, tilt your head slightly back with your eyes closed, connecting your personal energy with the energy of the Universe.
This standing position is used in all the exercises in Level 4, enabling us to get a deeper connection with our inner & outer awareness, showing us how they work together. Using the exercises in Level 4 tunes into what is authentic to us and how we connect with the world. Repetition of these practices allows your awareness to emerge to feel at ease, a technique that will help resolve specific situations so you can make important decisions in life.
This helps us explore the sensations in our bodies whilst concentrating on our values, such as body, mind, spirit and consciousness, which justifies our very existence in the world.
A list of the 50 Core Values can be found here written by James Clear, author of Atomic Habits.
“Success is the product of daily habits – not once in a lifetime transformation.’
